Bordering the smaller sister town of Greta, Branxton is the perfect commuter town due to its proximity mid-way between Cessnock, Singleton and Maitland, with close access to the new Hunter Expressway. The township offers a great main street shopping centre with many community services, sporting facilities, schooling and the monthly Sacred Tree Markets is a wonderful community event with live music, food and handmade items for sale. Branxton is also home to the popular Braxnton Rodeo held annually each year at Branxton Rodeo Grounds on McMullins Road, of which people travel from all areas to watch the Open Bull Ride, Bareback, Saddle Bronc and Barrel Races.
